The Jazz Ferry, one of the traditional events of the festival, will once again set sail on a journey full of music and entertainment in the cool waters of the Bosphorus.

Bringing together one of Istanbul’s most beloved landmarks, the Şehir Hatları ferry, with the most joyful form of jazz, the Jazz Ferry awaits its passengers. Brassist, Kaan Arslan Co and Kamucan Yalçın and Friends will accompany the passengers on this exhilarating adventure with their performances in different styles.

Kaan Arslan Co, founded by Kaan Arslan, will transport the ferry to the 1920s with Dixieland and New Orleans blues. Vocalist and trumpeter Kaan Arslan, who reinterprets arrangements by jazz masters such as King Oliver, Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong and Bunk Johnson, will be accompanied by Burak Küçük on saxophone, Oğuz Alp Erdoğmuş on double bass and Ertuğrul Kızmaz on guitar. In another section of the ferry, experienced musician Kamucan Yalçın and his band Kamucan Yalçın and Friends, with a repertoire of early jazz, will be on stage with a performance referencing the dramatic style of Ragtime and Dixieland. The joyful music of Swing Brassist, a brass quintet from Istanbul that brings the brass band tradition of New Orleans to the present day, will turn the ferry into a dance floor. Don’t forget to wear comfortable shoes and bring your best dance moves with you.
